Martingales & Breastcollars

Hand-made, one at a time, by an individual craftsman that ensures the kind of quality you do not find from mass-production companies. Most all our gear is made when ordered to reduce overhead in my one man shop. Below are some design possibilities from collars that have been made in the past. All styles are available on custom order with a three to five week delivery window. Email me for a price quote on any of the martingale designs found below as prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in the leather market. We also occasionally have one or two styles on hand in the shop.

Custom designs are also welcome and we will be glad to build that special, one-of-a-kind piece for you.

Leather slotted concha mounted 1" dee rings for your saddle to attach this buckaroo style martingale available on request. Neck and gullet straps are all adjustable and removeable. Gullet strap design also available for use on saddles without high mounted dees.

The Alamar Knot carries a lot of meaning in the Old Californio tradition. Some think it merely a decoration carried by the bridle horse only on special occasions. Its meanings run deeper than that and can be found over on the Sage Horsemanship side of our website. This neckrope can be used for sprucing up your rig or when riding bridleless to give you some security. The knot is stitched to keep it from upsetting and the neck collar is adjustable by use of the simple sheet bend. We usually have a couple of these on hand and will be looking for a higher quality rope in the future from which to make these. These are from a basic poly type leadrope stock and have simple, heat-sealed ends to keep them from fraying Some folks like the frayed look and you can cut the heat-sealed portion oof to allow for that frayed end look.
