Martingales & Breastcollars

Leather slotted concha mounted 1" dee rings for your saddle to attach the buckaroo style martingale available on request. Build your own custom martingale using the form at the bottom of this page. Brand new and hand-tied from Sage Saddlery. Made from 3/8" poly braid rope, these alamar knot neckropes can be used as a fancy breastplate for decorating your horse on a special occasion or as a neckrope for riding bridleless. The knot has been stitched at each crossing and will not tighten or upset under a pull. The sheet bend can easily be loosened to lengthen or shorten the loop.

Berry Concha Martingale - Shown here in chestnut Wickett and Craig leather, this martingale is basket stamped and sports three successive sized zinc (will not rust, ever) conchas on each arm in a traditional berry design. The breastplate also has a berry concha as the centerpiece. Stainless steel hardware including 3/4" trigger snaps on the neck strap and tugs for easy-on and easy-off. Email to check on sold status.

Celtic Cross Concha Martingale - Shown here in brown Wickett and Craig leather, this martingale sports zinc (never rust) conchas in a celtic cross design. Stainless steel hardware including 5/8" trigger snaps on the neck strap and near tug for easy-on and easy-off. Email to check on sold status.

Made with Wickett & Craig russet saddle skirting leather by Sage Saddlery, two-ply and stitched for durability. This new, fine, pulling collar with 5” brass heart on the breastplate is designed to ride above the big muscles of the shoulder, keeping the collar from binding the horse as many breast collars do. This style is perfect for dragging calves to the fire, trail riding in the hills or mountains or just plain looking sharp in the show ring. Includes neck strap and tugs for attachment to the saddle and cincha snap, all to keep it in its place. Can be used without tugs like the old martingales from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century or without the neck strap like a more modern breast collar. Brass buckles in the buckaroo style, as well as trigger snaps on the tugs and neck strap for easy-on/easy-off. A great piece just waiting to complete your mounted shooting or re-enactor outfit.
